What Counts?

To help you get started, some ideas for Give Me Five activities are listed below. However, the PTA and staff will need to get together to work out what is best for your school. Just remember, the main aim is to get every family interested and involved in their child's education. It is a good idea to have a wide range of options for volunteers to choose from, including some tasks that can be done from home or outside normal working hours.

Attend to PTA meetings
Help with sausage sizzles
Help during class swimming sessions
Listen to children reading
Glue work into junior class books
Be a helper at the fair or hangi
Take children for games in break times
Disco helpers
Help produce the school newsletter
Volunteer for a parent group committee
Be a room parent
